(In memoriam JPG)

Youth is a talent.

It takes many years to acquire it.

Wisdom is a burden.
Suffer the little children.
Isolation is cheek by jowl.
Bring back solitude.
Why, when I don my mask, do I feel exposed?
Perhaps because it reminds me of the ninja in ‘The Samurai’.

Ah, but I was so much older then.

Birds of a Feather

being a bird is hard work

you seek a mate

you court

you couple

straw by straw, you build a nest

you hatch your eggs

you nourish your young

you defend them from predators

you protect them come what may

you teach them to fly

yes, you sing them to sleep

you teach them to fend for themselves

you give them the hint: time to leave

gone for good, you take to the sky

for the sheer joy of it, you are flying.
