Victorian Youth Week is a celebration of young people. The annual event focuses on celebrating the talents of young Australians aged between 12 and 25 years.
After being postponed earlier this year due to coronavirus (COVID-19), Victorian Youth Week 2020 has a new date and a new format this year. A special month-long Victorian Youth Week is being held from 15 November to 15 December 2020, with all events to take place online and in line with coronavirus restrictions at the time of the activity.
The Victorian Government has contributed to grants of up to $2,000 for 110 community organisations, local councils and schools to engage young people aged 12 – 25 years in the planning and delivery of diverse and inclusive events and activities as part of the annual celebration.
West Gippsland Libraries are excited to present these Youth Week events online:
Youth Week Future Lab : The Physics of Sport
Young surfers, skaters and boxers from the Bass Coast take to the waves, ramps, and the rink to show their style to West Gippsland librarian Karen, with experts in search of the laws of physics in sport.
Youth Week Future Lab : Robots have taken over the library!
Teams of young programmers take on the challenge to create an emotional display by robots. Join West Gippsland Librarian Karen as she follows their quest. Will there be tears or euphoria?
