Our Mirboo North Library branch will be closed for renovations from Friday 27 August, and is scheduled to reopen on Saturday 18 September 2021. There will be no public access to the library during this time. The returns chute will remain open.
The library’s interior will be upgraded with a fresh new look, including new carpet, shelving and circulation desk. Patrons can look forward to enjoying a comfortable borrowing experience with new furniture and a Wi-Fi lounge where they will be able to make tea or coffee. We’ll also be preparing the library for the introduction of 24-hour access.
How can I access reading material during this time?
We encourage all patrons to collect their holds and stock up on reading material before August 27. If you would like to divert your holds to another library location during this time, you can update your ‘home library’ through your online account on our website or phone the friendly team at the Mirboo North library to arrange this before they close. Our online resources including e-books, e-audiobooks, digital magazines, movie streaming and more are always available on our website.
Reopening
The library is scheduled to reopen on Saturday 18th of September, and we will keep patrons updated via email, our website and social media. From this date, the library opening hours will be –
Monday: Closed
Tuesday: 2pm-6pm
Wednesday: 2pm-6pm
Thursday: 10am-6pm
Friday: Closed
Saturday: 9.30am-1pm
What is 24-hour access?
West Gippsland Libraries are excited to introduce 24-hour access to Mirboo North in the near future. Patrons will be able to apply for a pass that will give them secure 24-hour access to books, workspaces, Wi-Fi and more. A refundable $30 deposit is required for each pass, and members will be given an induction to the library with a West Gippsland Libraries team member. Read more about 24 hour access here.
