West Gippsland Libraries are supporting 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence initiative for 2019 during 25 November through 10 December. This years theme is closely aligned with Respect Victoria’s campaign, ‘Respect Women: Call It Out’ which asks all Victorians to be active bystanders and call out the drivers of family violence and violence against women.
For the 16 days of activism, some of initiatives you will see in the branches might include displays with books promoting gender equality and posters that support this campaign and story times by featuring picture books that highlight kindness and respect.
Wonthaggi Library is hosting a panel discussion on action against gender-based violence on Friday, Dec 6th from 4:30pm to 5:30pm. For details about the event, check out the events page
